2006 NAGA Championship
The Kimura BJJ Academy won 14 swords and won 3rd place at the team competition at the NAGA North American Championships on November 4th, 2006. The event took place at Sacred Heart University (Pitt Center) Fairfield, CT. Kimura had 24 students and won 14 swords. The highlight of the competition was Diego Ferroni (blue belt, 170 pounds), who won his 5th championship this year. Another highlight was Bruno Braz (blue belt, 140 pounds), who won the New England and now the North American. Another highlight was Mauro Silva, who won 3rd place in the adult category despite the fact that he is in the master category of over 40. Romulo (white belt, 160 pounds) was also a highlight, winning 4 fights and winning 3rd place despite the fact that he has only been training for one month!
I would like to congratulate the championship organization as well as all the Brazilian Jiu-jitsu academies that were present. I would also like to say that the championship level grows each day (both technical level and organization level). Congratulations once again to everyone who competed as well as to everyone that went to show support for our team.
