2006 Pan-American Championship

Kimura BJJ will be participating in the next Pan-American. The tournament will take place on April 7th, 8th and 9th in California State University Dominguez Hills, Carson - California. The PanAmerican Jiu-Jitsu Championshop 2006 is realized by United States Jiu-Jitsu Federation.

THE TOURNAMENT

The tournament will take place on April 7th, 8th and 9th in California State University Dominguez Hills, Carson - California.

The athletes must be at the warm up area, according to their fighting schedulle.

The athlete only can enter in the fighing area when is called by the official.

In case of victory the athlete must return to the warm up area, and remain there till the next fight.

No coaching is alowed in the fighting area.

On friday, April 7, prior to the PanAmerican Jiu-Jitsu Championship, the IBJJF will be giving a Reffere course. All the students that are attending the course will be certified by IBJJF and CBJJ.
Time 9:00 - 12:30

1:30pm - 4:30pm

PanAmerican Jiu-Jitsu Novices Championship

The first novice championship will be held on Friday, April 7th, prior to the main event. On This event the points will be tallied separately from the main tournament. The points breakdown is as follows: First place- 9 points, Second place- 3 points, and Third place - 1 point. The event is for white belts only, MALE: ADULT or MASTER, and FEMALE: ADULT, and is intended to give budding competitors experience in the largest US tournament alongside many of the great athletes in sport jiu-jitsu.

- Fight time: 5 minutes
- There is no open class.

4th BRAZIL X USA TEAM CHALLENGE

This event will take place on April 8th and 9th 2005, during the PanAmerican Jiu-Jitsu championship at the same place. The USA Team will be composed with the champions in the adult division of the 4th American National Jiu-Jitsu Championship. They will fight against the Brazilian National Team.

If you are one of the champions in the fourth National American Championship-Blue, purple, brown,black, adult division only - e-mail us to confirm your presence on the USA Team 2006.

DIVISIONS

Junior 16/17 year-olds

- Only bluebelts
- Men only
- 16 and 17 year-olds will compete in the same division
- Athletes born on 1989 and 1990 are eligible to compete
- Fight time: 5 minutes
- There is no open class.

Adults

The division is open for everyone, but athletes of other age divisions willing to compete here will not be allowed to fight in their own division (athletes can only enroll in one age division)

Fight time:
bluebelts - 6 minutes;
purplebelts - 7 minutes
brownbelts - 8 minutes;
blackbelts -10 minutes

Masters (30-35)

- Athletes born between 1971 and 1976
- Fight time: Bluebelts – 5 minutes
- Purple/brown/blackbelts – 6 minutes
- Men only

Seniors 1 (36-40)

- Athletes born between 1966 and 1970.
- Fight time: all belts - 5 minutes
- Men only

Seniors 2 (41-45)

- Athletes born between 1961 and 1965.
- Fight time: all belts - 5 minutes
- Men only

Seniors 3 (over 46)

- Athletes born before 1960.
- Fight time: all belts - 5 minutes
- Men only

Women

- There will be five weight divisions (check weight list)
- Brown and blackbelts will compete in the same division
- Adults only
- Fight time: Bluebelts - 6 minutes
- Fight time: Purplebelts - 7 minutes
- Fight time: Brown/blackbelts – 10 minutes

WEIGH INS

The weigh-in system is the same that is used in Brazil for the Mundial. Before his/her first fight, the athlete will check his/her weight with the Gi. There is only one opportunity to check the weight. If the competitor does not make his/her weight,they will be immediately disqualified. Please make sure that you are in the correct weight division. You can not change divisions ,if you do not make your designated division. No changes will be accepted in the tournament day, no refund.

All athletes should fight and weigh-in with tradicional weave fabric gi only (single, double or golden). All blue, all white or all black. No other kind of gi is allowed.
